Subject Matter Expert Spotlight: Daniela Heppard

Daniela Heppard is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM®) and Lead Emergency Management Specialist at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region I. She’s also a subject matter expert for Skye’s new course, Introduction to Emergency Management.

Heppard has a long background in emergency management. Her experience began at the state level, working for the Emergency Response Section of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and eventually becoming the department’s sole Emergency Management Specialist. She later transitioned to the federal level at FEMA, assisting in over 30 disasters across the country. Heppard is also a passionate scuba diver, baker, and cook.
